    Led lighting

Once the novelty wore ofthe wouldn't care about that stuff anyway. :) the fish themselves are WAY more interesting than any lighting effects.

    Need advise ASAP

yep, this needs to move to freshwater ... but... to answer you anyway... just keep doing 20% water changes every couple days ... keep this up for 3-4 weeks (or until you get a test kit) and things should calm down. Don't replace any fish that die until the tank is more established/cycled (give...

Washed up rock on the beach

But the question may have been from something other than a "legal" perspective... The rock will certainly work in your tank... but if it goes in "as-is" you will likely bring in a lot of unknown "critters" and such to your tank. Some may be good, others bad. If you plan on just bagging it and...

    Anemone Suggestions

Bubble Tip's are very pretty and will do well in that size aquarium. I like my Giant Carpet, but after only 6 weeks it has doubled in size and is now almost 10 inches across and I imagine will get much larger.

Safe to put shells in tank?

Yes they are safe ... and you are wise to sterilize them first :) Depending on the pH of your water, they may break down over time... but a handful of shells should have no appreciable effect on the water parameters.

Any tips or ideas on a Shallow Reef

My 90g has 18" of water (as opposed to a more "standard" 22-24" depth)... i like it fine. You get good light penetration all the way to the bottom! A LFS I frequently stop by has several big tanks that are only 12" deep ... he uses them for frag propagation/display, but has a bunch of fish and...

just broke my 75 g tank glass

That will work ... it's been done before. Just 100% silicone with no additives (specifically no anti-mildew stuff.) If you're looking for a popular brand name, GE#1 silicone caulk.

    Ordered mp 10!!!

They're pricey, but I love 'em! ... I recently replaced a couple Koralia pumps with MP40's and really wish I had just gone with the MP's from the beginning! ... Oh well... I use one of the Koralias now to stir my saltwater mixing tub. :)

being overrun by bubble tip anemones?

So... where are you then? You should have no problem finding local enthusiasts willing to come and get them if you find the right (local) club/forum!

    Clowns destruction

If you're talking the red stuff at the top, it looks like a couple of mushrooms at the base of some sort of red macro-algae. But I'm just guessing about the algae... pretty sure of the mushrooms. Again... that would be highly unusual behavior for a clownfish. Could it be that the current just...

    Hot tank !

While I'm not running fans, I do have quite a bit of airflow around my sump right now ... so I'm just not sure if that would provide enough cooling. I'm more interested in getting rid of the hassle all together.

    Hot tank !

Oh well ... now that outside temps are in the 90's (I'd prefer to keep my indoors around 80) and high humidity, the water temp is back up over 82 degrees. (That's the point I have the lights and skimmer programmed to shut off.) So a chiller has been ordered... time to fix this problem for good.

    Sump question

Auto Top Off... You have a container of fresh water, a small pump, and a float switch in the sump. As water evaporates, the float switch activates the pump which moves the fresh water into the sump till the float switch opens again, stopping the pump when the desired level is once agin...

    Sump question

You can cover it to slow the evaporation, but... yep, it's normal. As summer gets here though, I'm finding that keeping the water cool is getting hard!... having that evaporation happening will help to keep the water a little cooler. Do the math, and you may find that an RO/DI unit (if you...
