    Rapid deterioration of skin

At least that's all I can think of to describe it. I recently purchased 4 rummynose tetras from my lfs, for the first day everything was great. They were all schooling wonderfully with my existing rummynose and seemed quite happy. I purchased the fish last Friday and as of now, 4:30 Monday, only...

    Dropping like flies!

Did you use de-chlor on the new water? Most likely the tank has not cycled yet even with the 5 gallons from the old tank and the bioload from all the new fish has pushed your ammonia levels to toxic levels.

Try rummy-nose tetras, great fish. Quite colorful, and they school quite nicely. Very beautiful.

    Hello all

Just thought I'd post a message here and introduce myself. Found the site today and love it. My name is Jack and I'm pretty new to the aquarium world, but I've caught the virus, bad. I always had an aquarium in my room when I was a youngster, but was never terribly interested, but things...

    limestone.. just rinse/clean and insert?

I normally give them a good scrubbing with an scrub pad, boil some water and pour it over the rocks. I've never had any problems at all with them. Remember, boiling rocks is a no no.
