oscars can take a bit longer than other cichlids to get used to their new home. this is perfectly normal. :) it can take even a couple weeks for them to get completely comfortable in their new tank. It would be nice to know the params of the tank though just to be sure there is nothing else...

Well, you're certainly not alone. I started about 6-7 years ago with a goldfish and a bowl. Then I did some reading and started buying tanks. Now I have 15 tanks running ranging from 10 to 150 gallons and I have 3 more waiting to be set up. So, as others have already said there is no cure...

I gotta agree with severum mama (and hello to a fellow Hoosier :mrgreen: ). These all, in the pics, look like undyed jellybean parrots. the one with shades of blue could easily have Honduran Red Point genes in its lineage. Fish farms have been crossing Honduran red points to both regular cons...

I agree with Kari...don't ban them but instead put heavy restrictions on them so that they are much harder to get. Of course, I feel the same way about Pacus, Irridescent sharks, SA red tailed catfish and pretty much any other species of fish that grows say 30" or more. :)

Eventually, the puffer will be happy in 1.022, but for now being in freshwater it's best to increase the salinity slowly. I've always read it's best to increase the salinity no more than .002 per week. I believe you want to aim for 1.022 by the time the puffer is around 4-5". :)

I was recently at an auction in Cincinnati and one of the species sold was Boesmani rainbows. When read over the speaker they pronounced it as "BOZE-mahn-eye". I can't say for sure that the emphasis is on the first syllibal but I do know that the "i" at the end is pronounced "eye". This is...
