Food for Firemouhts (regular flakes not working)

When I got my Firemouths, the guy told me to just use flakes to feed them. I thought "great I already have flakes". But the firemouths are very reluctant to eat them. They will not swim to the top to eat. They will only each if it sinks down in front of their face. Is the regular "tropical fish...

    new Firemouths are fighting

On Saturday (22nd) I got a pair of Firemouths. Each about 2 inches long. I put them in the tank one one starting attaching the other. I called the store/guy I got them from and he said that is normal. That they have to find out who is the dominate one. He said to just let them be. I said OK...

    gravel vacuums

I have a python vacum. At my old house it worked great. But in my new house there isnt as much suction. So its a real pain to suck suff other than water out of the tank.

which of these 2 filters is better

I've tried that water level at many differant spots and I've noticed the least amount of noise is if the water lever just touches the out spout. IF I cover the out sput completly the noise is louder and I water water splashing out and onto my light fixture.

okay so here is my pic it show the water coming under the bio-wheel, the wheel rotating, the water being lefted up by the wheel, then falling off the wheel, and causing a splash, thus making the noise.
