Once it's too big for that tank I was planning on finding a friend or other to adopt it. I do know that they get very large so I will probably just have Jack in a tank alone. Do you know the gender?

I have a JD and mine is much darker in color with more vibrant teal colors but I think mine is the opposite sex as the one you have pictured. But otherwise it looks EXACTLY like my JD.

I also plan on adding some salt to make the tank brackish because I read that cichlids like brackish water. Wont the salt help stave off some parasites?
