The diffuser i bought is buyo made of ceramic, ive already setup the whole think im just waiting for the yeast to kick in...is the diffuser adequate for a Diy co2 or is it made for pressurized systems?

Hey Coke, thank u for ur informative answer I just checked ur pics on ur profile and i must say u have a beautiful tank! Concerning the recipe, isnt a whole sachet of yeast a lot?? ive read that the more yeast you put the less the mix will last and the average is 1/2 tsp of yeast!

Yes I shook the bottle until i was sure that the sugar was totally dissolved The airtube goes right under where the water comes out of my powerhead filter so its in the middle of the tank. I can see little bubbles forming in the bottle (very slowly) but absolutely nothing is going in the tank...

This tank has been a work in progress for 2 years(and still is)..it still needs a LOT of work but so far so good...Plants in tank: Anacharis(growing like crazy), anubias, red temple, water wisteria. Fish: Senegal bichir(dragonfish), whiteskirt tetras, 2 gold gouramis, 2 peppered corys, Albino...

Its a regular compact fluorescent light its not made specifically for tanks..it will hang from the top of the tank since I dont have a lid...whats actinic light? i googled it and it gave me a bunch of results for reef tanks :\

One more thing, if i reduce the amount of time the light is on can i still get away with 85 watts?

Plants in tank: Water wisteria, anacharis, Alternanthera reineckii, anubias. Currently the tank has a 15 watt fluorescent bulb which is extremely low ligh and so the plants arent growing at all. Will the new light show me increased growth or will I have an algae bloom? (i add liquid...
