I was hoping to get some suggestions on the best way to light a 90 gallon corner tank. The odd shape makes most light fixtures difficult to use. Any suggestions?
That's exactly right. I have my tank set up like a V Where all the coral and live rock line the walls so I'm trying to light the front and back equally.
Hello all ! I have a 90 gallon corner tank, which many of you will know, is an odd shape when it comes to lighting. I currently run a 250 watt metal halide and then behind that a 6 strip T5 light. I want to try to combine my lighting to one fixture. Anyone know a good way to light this tank ...
Well,,, sadly when I got home from work last night I found that he had almost completely disintegrated. I am extremely sad and disappointed but wanted to thank all of you for your advise and for trying to help.
The guy at the LFS is trying to tell me its the Zooxanthellae so I am trying to sort it out. Thank you everyone for you're input. I think I'll believe you guys over him any day.. lol
Thank you gentlemen ! Quick follow up... if he is expelling waste is that a good sign that he may have actually eaten some of the brine shrimp I fed him ?
I was hoping to clear something up. When an anemone expels waste does it look like little brown balls ? I have been told that this is waste, but I have also been told that the little brown balls are zooanthellae. But i have also been told that the zooanthellae would look more like a brown cloud...
thanks ! I will leave him B and just keep the water crystal and the light strong. Hopefully he will start to eat soon. I tried mysis shrimp today and he may have eaten a little bit of it. Hard to tell if he actually ate it to be honest as the mysis is so small. he was once again very very sticky...
The reason i thought of moving him was because his foot is not attached below the sand yet, and i wasn't sure if the S. gigantea prefer a rock to latch on to as opposed to the sandy bottom. Have you heard that they prefer the rocks to sand ? And again, thank you for your continued advise.
Thanks Doug ! I appreciate the advise. I will try feeding it again tonight. I also thought that maybe i would move him from the sand to a rock, and get him a little higher up in the tank. Get him a little more in the current and closer to the lights.
Is there any one I can call for advise ? Like a reef doctor or anything? I am more than willing to pay a consultation fee if needed. I would just hate to think there was anything I could do and didnt do it. I really have a great respect and love for carpet anemones and really want to see him...
