I have a few tangs, some percula clowns and a flame angel which all seemed to come down with Ich. I slowly lowered the salinity over 3-4 days to 1.009. Every day the Ich got worse, but now that we're .09 I'm hoping it will cease. Is there anything else I need to do with treatment using...

Yes, fresh is very good so far. They love it, and it doesn't start breaking up and decomposing like dried nori. I just got back from picking some from the beach today. :)

Oh ok, I will try the dried since it's harder to keep fresh seaweed for long, I'm also feeding them fresh seaweed which is widely available in Hawaii. :) Thanks, John

Does it matter what type of nori it is? Toasted or Dried? Or either or is ok as long as it isn't salted nori? Thanks, John

Hi everyone, I have a quick question, on the organi-cure wrap, it says safe for shrimp and crabs. Although when I looked on the bottle it says "Not for use with...Shrimps and Crabs" Is it just better to not have them in there during this treatment? Thanks, John

Hey reefrunner, I actually used one of those floating hydrometers and you were right, it was a little above 1.027!! I refuse to use those floating arm hydrometers anymore! Thanks for the great tip, John

It's weird, my gravity was just above 1.026 and my xenia started to look very weak and start to slightly curl. Oh well, we'll see what happens. :)

What should the specific gravity and PH level be for xenia to thrive. Thanks, John

Hey Beachbumin, Locally here in Hawaii we have a spitgot provided by the state that goes 3 miles out to give us unfiltered salt water. Our local aquarium also allows you to get free filtered sea water if you are a member. I still worry about introducing parasites from the unfiltered ocean...
