Lost my first Ellioti today :( I come home from work and he was on his side with missing scales and really nipped fins. I put him in a breeder box to stop him getting nibbled and he lasted about 10minutes after that :(

My general rule of thumb is 1.5 watts per litre of water hasn't let me down so far .

29 gallon should be fine as long as you have plenty of filtration, are they house bricks though? Do you know what they're made from as they maybe be potentially harmfully to the fish. IMO I'd use teracotter pots(the non glazed ones) and river stones if you can get access to them.

any update on this? id like to see how they've turned out.
