Any cool fish you can put in a 10 gallon

I'm not sure if the Betta would bother corys or not. You could add a few neon tetras in there. I've just had a 10 gallon open up and I'll be doing that with some shrimp

    Clown pleco

Even though clown plecos stay relatively small they still have a fairly large bio load. If you don't like him, I say take him back. I keep mine because I enjoy seeing him when I find him! Sorry about the wrong info on the loach

    Clown pleco

The API freshwater master test kit is a much. Since you don't have any live plants you're not adding any nutrients, which means the algae is most likely cause by light. 6 hours really isn't excessive, so my only guess is that your light might be too powerful for your tank. I believe your loach...

    Clown pleco

The other option is to adjust your lighting power or time to reduce algae in your tank. Adding fish or inverts to control algae can become an ongoing issue, when you can take care of the issue from the source. Algae is generally caused by an imbalance in nutrients and light, find the correct...

    Clown pleco

The only time I see my clown pleco is when I occasionally move things around to vacuum. If I look very close I might get a glimpse of him here and there, but he's never on the glass like the common pleco I had before I learned how big they get.

    Dual T8 fixtures?

Obviously this is up to you and your tank, but with just basic swords you should be ok with a dual T5 Normal Output, on the low end of ok. this should put you in the high range of low light, or in the low range of medium light. If you wanted to do any "fancier" swords or think you might want to...

    Dual T8 fixtures?

Most swords are moderate to high lighting. I would use t5 (no or ho) or PCs instead of T8s. Let me hop on my desktop and ill do a little digging and see if I can help you out a little more

    Dual T8 fixtures?

How tall is your tank and what type of plants are you currently or hoping to keep?

    Dual T8 fixtures?

I would recommend building your own, t8 ballasts and sockets are fairly cheap. The issue with that, (not knowing what plants are in there) is in my experience, t8 are not great with planted tanks. I know with 2 48" t8s you would only be able to get about 60 watts, you'd get something less since...

    Stopping Filter noise

One thing that I have seen, not the prettiest solution but may work, is to use a hanger to lower the HOB lower into your tank and still attach to the tank wall

    100 gallon possibilities

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Now to research some possibilities for a FOWLR tank, check prices for equipment for each, and confer with the wife.

    Anacharis Plants

That looks like hair algae, definitely not part of the plant. Your lights may be too powerful or on too long

    100 gallon possibilities

Any advice on the compatibility of ghost white lobster, blue knight lobster and 2 rope fish in a 90 gallon?

    100 gallon possibilities

So it turns out i answered my own question, kind of. The African Chiclid i was looking at needs a higher PH, so he's out. So if the "Lobsters" are compatible, here's what I'm thinking so far: 1 Threadfin Geophagus 1 Red Oscar 1 electric Blue Jack Dempsey 1 Black Convict 1 Yellow Convict 2...
