- I have a 29 gal tank with platties and guppies. Trying to converse from artificial to a natural tank (struggling) substrate is black plant soil. Tried planting seeds, fish continue to uproot them, tried started rooted plants, I kill them or just doesn't work but still trying! Inherited the tank from my mom my previous tank was 120gal and so much less of a nightmare!!!!
