    Nitrite

Oh, and I forgot to add, this is not a feshly cycled tank. It has been active for over a year now with only 1 fish dying in the entire time its had life. Sent from my SM-N910P using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Nitrite

What would cause a random Nitrite bloom? Enough to kill every fish. Over night it jumped from 0 to off the chart; >5ppm. Ammonia is at 0, nitrate <5ppm. Ph 8.0. Specific gravity is at 1.025. Temp 79.8. Granted I'm testing these parameters after the dead fish sat at the bottom for over 10 hours...

I cannot remember what it is

Most of the information offered online states that the candy cane coral should be fed at a minimum of twice a week. Should I actually spot feed it or would it be best to allow it to catch its own food from the water column as I feed the fish? Sent from my SM-N910P using Aquarium Advice mobile app

I cannot remember what it is

I bought this coral and now a couple weeks later I am unable to remember what it is called. Any help would be appreciated. Second, I have something new starting to grow on one of my pieces of live rock and it appears to be a sponge or some type of plant but any more specifics would be...

    Refractiometer readings

    Refractiometer readings

Well I can see how you could come up with that, but I'm mixing the salt as it states on the bucket and this is the reading I'm getting. In addition, this isn't a new tank and I've got corals and a couple fish that have been thriving since day one. I would think that 1.004 would be wayyyy too...

    Refractiometer readings

I recently purchased a new Refractiometer and I'm having trouble understanding the readings. It's giving me a "brix%" and I don't know how to translate that to salinity or specific gravity. Any thoughts or did I simply buy the wrong style of Refractiometer? Sent from my SM-N910P using Aquarium...
