price wise there is a big difference depending on how big you go. Skimmers are the biggest price, along with sand live rock and lights. Ive spent probably 200 just on rock, another 125 on sand, and 180 on a skimmer. the lights were 375 that I got. However a cheap PC light would be around $60+.
No worries, any advice is always welcome. I never planned on getting an anemone so soon. Definitely one of those things I was iffy about. The anemone never got chopped up actually. His jelly bottom got sucked into the grill of the intake (koralia) and never actually touched the rotor itself. Im...
Well sad news. Was downstairs for a while (hour maybe) come up and I find my anemone inside my power head. Not the tentacles though, the actual bottom but sucked up pretty well. I feel horrible for the little guy. Looks like I won't be attempting one of these guys for a long time. Possibly when...
He wants only fish and rock from what his post says. Again it is doable. Taking the long route of using base rock and allowing it to mature to grow the required bacteria will save you plenty in itself.
I have no must to keep this coral. It is very beautiful however I do not want to keep a coral which has a 90% chance to die after 12 months. Doesn't seem right to me. It is a metallic green goniopora. I just found the bag for it.
So a few updates. I added another coral, and I didn't get the name of it. Go figure, I seem to have this problem lol.
After watching it for a while, my emerald crab went over towards it and sure enough grabbed little pieces off the corals. Calming myself down I simply tossed him in a bag...
SO after the unfortunate loss of my Gold headed sleeper Goby I am looking into engineer Gobies. Anyone have any experience with these? I haven't really payed to much attention to them, however after looking into them more I think they are quite the interesting type.
(for those who don't know...
Interesting she said it brings it to life. Which is by far not true at all. I have had my tank for almost two months, and I have Coraline algae showing up. No need for purple up in my opinion.
I would agree with leaving the lights on longer. Is this really an attempt of your brother messing with you or actually trying to save your corals? I mean even if your lights are on, I don't see it doing much harm.
They have some one putting together a rather large tank on reef central. The tank is actually stressing a I beam. The tank your planning is probably 3x that. The crazy.
