Yes, if your tank is cycled, allow the two filters to be running together for about a week so they can colonize in the new one. Also, if possible, seed the new filter with old media from the old filter. Sent from my 831C using Aquarium Advice mobile app

Tetra makes good products but their filters aren't one of them. I recommend the Aqueon 10. Stay away from topfin as well. FluVal, Aquaclear, Marineland, and National Geographic are the better filters. Sent from my 831C using Aquarium Advice mobile app

Salt baths cruel? No, you don't leave the fish in long. Guppies can tolerate a lot of salinity. If in not mistaken, they can be acclimated to salt water and be perfectly fine for life. Few freshwater fish can do this, but some can. Sent from my 831C using Aquarium Advice mobile app

It shouldn't be too bright for the fish...and as far as the algae, just make sure to only run the light 6-8 hours per day.

Any aggressive fish really could flare. Black convicts do it, bettas, Gouramis...this is both male and female :D Eventually the female will have enough of the constant harassment and defend herself.

Personally I like cories. They're so interesting to watch...especially when they all pile on top of each other like a dog pile :P However, if you truly want fish with personality, do a sorority of female bettas or Tetras. Barbs are just...nippy and sometimes mean.

Just something from my personal experience. I had two bettas in a 10 gallon tank. The female killed the first male. He was a wuss, wouldn't fight back. The second male gave her a run for her money, and eventually they left each other alone. She didn't bother any other fish...except baby...

Looks more closer to 7.5-7.6, it isn't quite 7.8. Hope this helps!!
