I am also in this boat. I have a 38 gal with hob filter. I have two clowns, a shrimp, three damsels, three snails and one fire goby. I want to add Another fish but I'm Not sure what else I could put In a tank that size.

I got to back to normal yesterday with the change. Fingers crossed!

The nitrate is perfect my I have a whisper filter for a 75 gal, mines only 38. I have only have one unhappy fish and it's a clown. I not sure if it's just being lazy though. It swims correctly to eat!

Yeah lesson learned.

Ok thanks! I'm working on a partial water change now. I haven't done one since I set up the tank in September. Long way past due! I will take the water next week and see what they say Thanks for all the advice, I have always had a freshwater tank this has been a true learning experience.

Should I do more than 1 gal at a time? And should I have a time period between changes?

My salinity is staying around 1.28-1.3. Last night I took out about a gal and added fresh water no salt, I did that twice and read again at 1.28. What should I do? I am a newbie of course. My tank is a 38 gal! Thanks
