You can put Chaetomorpha in your fuge, sump, or in your aquarium. You can free float it, but I stuff it between my rocks and glass. It adds for a nice backdrop, and allows the pods to venture further up the rock structures. It can go anywhere, really. here's what it looks like.

Ok. I used 200lbs of HD Silica playsand as my dsb (4.5 inches). Sand (silica dioxide) is what the glass is made of. All you have to do is rinse it really really well, which is a huge pain in the $@%. Mine has been going for almost 2 years, and I've not had any diatoms blooms, outside the...

i got them from Plus Lighting Co., Limited......i haven't burned them for more than 3 hours yet. will burning them short when they're new mess up the final color?
