    First Spawn! Corydoras sterbai Finally

Hi Everyone, My Colony of Corys consists of 15! I had wanted to make sure that it would be worth it, to me, to raise the fry. My colony is keep in a 55 gallon. I will just have to move them to a different 55 for breeding. Does anyone know if they are likely to eat their newborns? kitty2234

    First Spawn! Corydoras sterbai Finally

Hi Fish Friends, Thanks for the help. I have tried water changes for over 6 months with no change. I have even tried applying cooler water during those water changes. The only thing that triggered them was putting them into a much taller and warmer tank. kitty2234

    First Spawn! Corydoras sterbai Finally

Hi Fish Friends, I bought some beautiful adult Sterbai about a year ago. I could not catch them spawning or find any eggs. I finally put them into a long tank and only gave them 6" of water in it. They stayed there for around 5 months. I went to a Tropical Fish auction on Saturday and bought...

    Seahorse Raising and Breeding Question

Hi Woody, My research showed that they are better off in taller aquariums. I already have a lot of aquariums, but am likely to buy one, especially for them. When I am ready. I am trying to get used to the concept of maintaining salt water, since it is different from fresh water. kitty2234

    Guppys laying eggs not fry

Hi Canary, In Mollies, it can take 1 male 1 time, to have up to 8 sets of fry. She saves some sperm for future fertilizations. kitty2234

    Seahorse Raising and Breeding Question

Hi Woody, What do you consider the diet of a seahorse in the ocean, might include? I figured that about 90% might have been brine shrimp. kitty2234

    Seahorse Raising and Breeding Question

Hi Woody, I was thinking about trying to have a brine shrimp colony in their tank. Maybe separated -partially - by a divider. kitty2234

How long do you have your lights on?

Hi Fish Friends, Most of my fish, need and love algae! So my tanks are on from around 16 hours per day to 24 hours per day. I have plecos in some of the tanks but my breeder tanks will not allow plecos. kitty2234

    Plecostomus has bloated stomach

Hi Fish Friends, I also wanted to mention that it could be a lung bladder disease (if I got the name correct). I normally only concentrate on problems that I am dealing with at the time but I did notice some mention of a bladder problem causing floatation problems. kitty2234

    Guppys laying eggs not fry

Hi Miley, I have heard of a few Livebears that accidently laid eggs. This is considered a miscarriage or an abortion (if I am correct). Is there more stress in the fish tank? Were any new fish added? Did you net the fish when they were due? All of these can cause fish to spawn before they...

    Angelfish Colors - Questions

Hi Fish Friends, I have been considering buying some angelfish at one of my Aquarium Society Auctions. Which is the most preferred and saleable color? Which color will bring in the most money when they grow up? I do not want this to be a losing investment. I want to be able to make some...

How long before angelfish lay eggs??? And other ?s

Hi Kelly, It would be much easier for you and the fish if each suspected pair had their own tank. I have fry coming out of my ears and I am considering buying some angels to raise and pair up. kitty2234

    Seahorse Raising and Breeding Question

Hi Fish Friends, I have always wanted seahorses. I have done some investigation into how other people are raising and breeding them. I have an important question: Has anyone tried or considered raising them as if they were in the ocean? I am asking if anyone has tried adding a slow current...

    This girl needs some help.

Hi Clark, One of the main things that I also would ask, is what type of fish is in that tank. If you have a bunch of goldfish or baby common plecos, than that will tell us that you have an over abundance of fish output (poo) in the tank. My first suspicion might be that you are overfeeding...

What Made You Want A Freshwater Aquarium?

Hi Fish lovers, When I was young, I wanted an alligator. Later on, when I was older and I started to go to college for a Master Degree in Business Management, I developed a business strategy and business idea. I plan to diversify a company. I have visualized the store setup. At this time...
