How do you secure the cuttlebone and veggies?...on the side or on the bottom? Have seen pics of the veggies on some ware...does that have rust issues? I tried Tums and all the snails have left the bottom and are at the top of the tank...so far it has only been occasionally that one will...

I have a 70 gal tall freshwater tank with a Cascade 600. The tubing for the Cascade, and the tank heater, does not allow the tank lid to fit securely down. - any ideas on how I can do this? Thank you for your suggestions!! -K
