    DIY backgrounf

Methods differ. I painted a 65g with black Krylon spray. The results were satisfactory... meaning that while viewing the tank the background is exactly as expected. So, I'm happy with it, That said, the rear of the tank is bumpy...almost as though there was grit in the paint which I highly...

My question is if I plan on getting soft coral , or pulsing Xenia how long do I leave

Great questions! In fact, I was about to post a very similar set of questions regarding the need for actinic use for SPS (softies) & LPS growth. Given adequate light (which will stir some controversy), I have run my T5s and actinics in tandem for periods of 10-12 hours. On a 20g long and in a...

    Invasive Sponge? Please help.

I'll keep a careful eye on it. Really, it's interesting but not attractive. I'm very near Neshaminy Mall. Noticed you are in Fairless Hills. Feel free to PM.

    Invasive Sponge? Please help.

Well, if it's not an invasive sponge was suggested elsewhere as in does no harm and will not take over, I'd consider it. I'd like to know more about the sponge so that I can make an educated and considered judgement about what I'm letting myself in for. I really like that coral. It's a real...

    Invasive Sponge? Please help.

 LOL Too easy. Thank you! Sometimes what seems obvious is the wrong move for a novice. So, does this appear to you as an invasive sponge? I'm stumped how it got in there as I haven't added anything to this tank (save water changes and food) since mid-December and it's now just...

    Invasive Sponge? Please help.

Found this growing directly on the white daisy flowered shaped coral. Has a hive like appearance where it is wider at the base and narrower at the top with a hole in the center. Both photos are identical with one a blow-up of the wider shot. Have no clue with this came from and first noticed...

Rock Confusion Pukani, Reef Saver Eco, and Florida Rock From BRS or ReefCleaners

I'm pleased as punch! The tank has had fish, inverts, and coral...stocking began Nov 13th. The rock is amazingly porous and provides lots of natural passthrus and hiding spots for blenny and the watchman goby/shrimp. The royal gramma has also been able to find pathways thru the large pieces...

    Ebay Ro/di replacement filters

Update E-mails have been sketchy, but I am pleased to report that I finally received a replaced di filter (in housing) this past Friday. Happy to have it but communication was very iffy and process way too long. That said, everyone has a misstep so I'll stick with the company with a watchful eye.

    New Anemone gone missing!

Nem Seems To Have Settled In So, now about 10-days since my original SOS... Photo shows where he seems to have settled in...showed up 1-day after the post that he was missing. He's located in a cave-like recess (see inside red circle) and has shaded himself some from the direct T5s. Have...

    New Anemone gone missing!

Really high flow? No. There is on 750 hydor and the return from the sump is probably at about 500 gph. Not sure I'd call that really high.
