    Day 13 fishless--big nitrite and pH change

    I may need some help here. This is what has been going on: Days 9-11 I had nitrites off the chart and nitrates at 5 ppm or so. Ammonia had been decreasing rapidly, 4 to 0 in 24 hours. Yesterday my nitrites were still high and nitrates were up to 40. Very exciting! I dosed the ammonia back up...

    What was your first FW fish?

    I had a crayfish, we studied them in 6th grade science class and I was one of the lucky few that got to keep one. I saw someone a couple months ago mentioned yabby (which I had to look up). I thought for sure no one else would have had a crayfish!

    The LFS said their pH was around 8.3! They have good ratings online and their fish and plants all seemed healthy to me. They have panda and julii (possibly they are really trilineatus). I was thinking about getting the latter.
