    Injured Western Rainbow

He's developed a cotton wool like growth over the head wound. Have seperated from others and placed in clean (100%) water. Have added the only treatment we currently have in which is the "interpet fungus & finrot" which is phenoxyethanol 40000mg/100ml

    Injured Western Rainbow

My biggest and stupidest rainbowfish has outgrown a rock arch in the tank and got stuck in it. By the time id released him hed managed to do himself some nasty injuries, having lost a lot scales from the dorsal aspect of his head and a nasty looking abrasion just in front of the dorsal fin...

My fish is sick..i need help

Personally I would euthanise this fish. It had fin rot but will soon become septic now the infection has destroyed the tail and got into larger vessels, looks like also secondary fungal infection

    Killifish, yes or no?

Clowns are fab but picky eaters... Mine turn their nose up usually to anything except live flies ... Although known to take flake on occasion. I found them the most difficult to acclimate as well

Converting an up and running tank to planted

Hoping to hide all the gear at the back with plants but they certainly seemed to spread out and bulk up rather than getting taller so far. Although I know the lower light is why it's slow growing (including no algae issues so far, touch wood). Should have added a BAckground when we first set...

URGENT advice needed for very FAT Molly / Guppy

Zoom in on the pics... I see pineconing early stages in all. When fish get dropsy they are ok at first, then become sluggish (eg rest on bottom or in favourite spot unless feeding time or being chased) then develop swim bladder, then die. I've never saved one that pineconed and now if they get...

What Should I do with this Gabrielli?

As you can see it's grown a buddy, I'm guessing it is nutrient deficient as I've been under dosing through negligence rather than intent. Other than sorting out the nutrients situation, should I do anything else (eg chop off buddy from main plant and then replant it in substrate)?

Mistakes made with your first tank

    Sick Molly

A good investment for the future would be a liquid test kit - my LFS tested my water and said it was ok to start adding fish - it actually had a trace of ammonia and nitrite and nitrates 0 (ie not cycled) so I'm glad I doubled checked! Flashing against stuff means they're itchy - either the...

    New to killifish, help

I struggled to get my rocket panchax to eat despite them apparently not being wild caught. If I drop finely crumbled flake in slowly sometimes they will go for it (they are surface feeders and usually strike at small insects landing on the water like river trout :D) but usually i have to feed...

    What is going on?

Ps most decent LFS will accommodate trades / store credit for fish. Especially if yours are healthy and are being rehomed as prophylaxis :-D. Everyone lives responsible fish mums and dads :-D
