I'm thinking of getting a 10 gallon tank, which I know weighs about 111lbs. I'm trying to figure out if my hope chest would be sturdy enough. It's wood, not flimsy. It holds me when I lie on it :p (150lbs) it's 3 ft long.
How do you know if something will be strong enough? I've read that...
So, my Betta hated the new tank- too strong of a current (Fluval U2.) I moved him to a new 2.5 gallon instead. I now have 5 White Clouds in the 5.5 gallon, and am trying to grow water sprite in both tanks.

Thanks for the tip. One of my plants is silk; the others are pretty smooth but I'll definitely look into Java fern. (I would love to have a huge planted tank but can't b/c I'm renting.)
