Thanks, I think lesson learnt. I'll investigate plants before I buy them in future, maybe I'll try the online sellers after researching the plant first. I am gutted as I want the plants to grow and spread but those won't 

You know what, i think it was. ffs, why are the lfs shops selling stuff that are not aquatic? Surely they knew I wasn't going to grow them in my garden!

Omg, that's what I was afraid of but it was in lfs. For now will that harm my fish or the ecology in my tank. Tank has just cycled and fish look happy. Got them on Friday too.

Thanks, that makes sense. I only kept the light off so that bacteria gets a chance to grow. Now I see there is a fine line I need to tread. So will these plants hinder the cycle and should I remove them?

Sorry I forgot, tube light came with tank hood. It says 1x 15w. If that helps. But during the cycle I was keeping tank light off.

One is Vallisneria spiralis and the one next to it in pix is alive and well. The other , I don't know what it's called. Oh no I set my heart out on angel!!! Anything else I can get that looks similar that I can keep? What if I only get 3 or 4?
