I went through everything with my bio cube. Diatoms, red slime, loads of hair algae. Now everything is perfect. Just make sure you keep at it and don't give up with the problems of a new tank, because the rewards after are great!
What type of water are you using?
Some of these acros ive been reading need 3 watts per gallon to be successful. I have about 110 watts of light for a 29 gallon tank. That's 4.1 watts per gallon, so I assume if I place it high enough in the tank it should thrive. :thumb:
I don't have PC in my tank, I have 96 watts of T5 and ecoxotic LED modules as well.
I'm going to try an acro, see what happens. I'm hoping I'll have success.!
Yes, I upgraded to T5 lighting. The PC on the biocube were terrible. Eventually I am thinking about upgrading to the Acan LED lighting, but I am waiting until I get a house and upgrade to a much bigger reef system.
Yea, I understand that but I am getting great color and growth on my birdsnest corals. Some people tell me that they need more lighting then some acros. So, what should I do?
Hi all. I have 96 watts of T5 lighting on a 29 gallon bio cube. I also have an Ecoxotic panorama LED module on it. I have an ORA raised green birds nest and Pink Birds nest. I have really good growth, especially with the ORA raised birds nest. Do a lot of the ORA raised SPS acros not...
The only problem with emerald crabs, is once they have eaten everything they can, they will pick at coral. Once that happens they are really hard to catch. You wouldn't want to have to move everything to get him out.
Looks like you have some aiptasia. Don't pick at them or they will spread.
Take a look at this website and see if you can identify anything.

As far as the Aiptasia there are many ways to get rid of them. Aiptasia-X works well, peppermint shrimps are your best option, and squirting...
That's all Aiptasia. If there is no coral on it, take the rock out and scrub the heck out of it in a bucket of tank water. Hydroids tend to be A LOT smaller and they are a darker brown.

Take a look at the difference.
What is the best way to do this? Has anyone attempted it? It has three heads, one that looks like I can slice right through the skeleton without doing any damage. Thoughts?
The yellow tang is too big for that tank. You really should bring it back. That tang needs at least a 55 or higher and even 55 gallons is pretty small.
