ok i think i might be going through another cycle or never finished the first one or something b/c the amonia is 0 and nitrate(or nitrite, whic ever come after amonia in the cycle) is climbing, so.....?????

so could i be getting a false reading with using prime b/c my perameters have not gone up or down lately, they have stayed the same?

120g tank... wooden hood/lights.... wooden stand.... gravel... 2 air pumps.... tubing/air stones.... 2 emperor 400 filters.... heater..... some decorations.... remote controled sub..... food/chemicals..... water testing kit.... other things i cant thing of right now..... all for $200..... GOD...

i have 2 emperer (spelling) 400 filters on my tank. as everyone here prob knows they have the "top cover" that sits on the top and covers the replaceable filter and the biowheel. the guy at my lfs said to keep the cover off b/c it deprives the bacteria on the biowheel oxygen it needs to live...

what about those amonia chunks, that are small like carbon that goes in the filter, would those help?

i have the tetra aquasafe for treating my tap water, is that a good product?

so i just tested my tap water and got a amonia reading of 1.5 what can i do to get this down b/c obviously i should not use this water for my water changes!!!

I thought that while the tank cycled you should not clean the gravel???

ok ill do that should i clean the gravel when i do a water change or not?

so today i did a 60% water change and then i checked the water perameters a couple hours later and they are still the same, what should i do????

ok how often should i do water changes and how many of these cycles should i expect, or can you even tell? also i noticed that the fish keep opening and closing their mouths quickly, is thia because of the high levels?

so i just added 7 glo light tetras a couple days ago and just checked my water perameters. my amonia went from 0 to1.5 and my nitrite went from 0 to 0.3 is this normal? is something wrong and or what should i do?????

its been up for over a week now, and yes it was already established. i think it was a mini cycle because they both rose and then fell seperatly..... i had food and a some guppies as the source of amonia.

what are some good plants that do not require a lot of co2?

ok its done cycling. the water is clear and he amonia and nitrite are 0. should i do a water change now before i add some fish?
