Thanks for the good advice! Power just kicked back on but now I know what to do next time.

I'm in Ohio and no where near the storm path but somehow I'm w/o power. How long can fish go without air and filtration? I'm sure there are variables such as tank Size and population but is there a general rule of thumb? Its been about 5 hrs and no one is at the top gasping yet.

I've had 2 pairs of angels in a 29 before but they were raised from fry. I would think you could do a school of some tetras like cardinal, rummy nose or something similar. Some loaches and catfish would add some variety to your tank too. I've never known angels to be aggressive with anything...

I'm am really sorry but I was given bad info on the crab and I passed that along to you. My LFS told me the crab could live in my tank it's whole life and that is NOT true! The Patriot Crab is Land crab. They can live in water for some time but it will eventually kill them. I'm getting a 20...

For a 55 I would say 12 safely MAYBE 15 if you overfilterate and stay diligent on your water changes. The Africans I have kinda poke at the crab and he does try to get them but even the baby Acei I just added to mine are too quick for him. He will climb out of the tank and sit on the side...

Also a Synodonis catfish works well with Africans. I have one and a patriot crab in my tank. The crab is a sideways walking garbage compactor. As far as I can see in your pics you appear to have a Kenyi, an Auratus and an Acei. You could add several more to your 55 to spread the aggression...

That looks great so far! It really fits perfectly in that spot. And I really like the idea of adding shelves to make that space more functional. How did you drill the tempered glass bottom of the tank without cracking it?

I can't offer any suggestions but can tell you my wife and I have had the same discussion on several occasions. It would be great to find a way to hide the overflow box on a tank without disrupting it's purpose. Great question, that I too am hoping someone has a great answer to.
