    Time to ask for help...

Tank has been up and running say 2-3 weeks now, 1 week with additions, Calcium Reactor is a question for Mr. McLain75... Power head is 3/4 into tank (it is a 20H tank), no turbulance from HOB as it is literally almost under the water (as that was my fear when he first put it on) Now we did have...

    Time to ask for help...

Your guess is as good as mine... If they are on everything, it's kind of hard to pinpoint, ya know??

    Time to ask for help...

Ok...Mr. McLain and I are in need of some advice! After doing much research, we are lost as to what to do. So here's the specs first: 20g coral only tank (with Leopard Wrasse for coral cleaning), 10# Live Sand on one half of the tank (for the Wrasse to sleep in and for some bacteria...

    Lionfish

"Peaceful (so long as its tank mates are larger than its mouth) and somewhat shy depending on the fish" -- peaceful, yes very, tank mates need to be larger than its mouth? Umm, you'd best come have a talk with my adult Lion then because him and his Tomato Clown tankmate are having a forbidden...

    Selcon question

Is the mix raw or cooked? I use all raw, shrimp, scallop, squid, clam, mysis shrimp, brine if I have it, smelt fish, then add some flake, pellet and nori put it all in a blender with some clam juice, mix it to a paste then put it in ice cube trays and add my vitamins or selcon right on top then...

    Bristol worm

They are absolutely a great addition to your clean up crew! However, if you see that they are getting too big, they have traps at you LFS or you can use tweezers to remove them from the tank when they come out after dark! ~Mrs. McLain75~

    Best fish buy EVER!

I have to share because I know how expensive corals can be! We had a 5 head zoa that had algae going all over it, so unfortunately, some of the heads were not opening. Went to our lfs (well technically not local, about an hour away), and they have a beautiful wrasse tank with all of their...

To stir or not to stir?

Hi all! Ok, so we have had both of our tanks going now for almost a year (predator 55g a little longer than the 180g DT). Both have DSB's, which we read not to disturb the beds because this could release poisonous whatever's into the water. HOWEVER, last night on Vivid Aquarium Mr. McLain75...

    Am Thinking A SW TANK!

Start slow and small! Then go up from there once you feel comfortable! The biggest mistake McLain75 & I did was go from a 35 gallon to a 180g in less than 3 months. We have had our trials and tribulations with it but is NOT something I recommend doing tho. Good luck in your decision and...

    Clowns and hosting!

Our Ocellaris's (2 mated pairs) have been trying to host the sails on the ship that is in the tank, unfortunately, the sails move too much... The Tomato Clown in my other tank hosts the buddha that is in there, quite funny actually. These guys will host anything that they feel comfortable in...

    flame angel

We have a flame in with multiple coral. All he does is pick the algae from the base or rock around it. Never have I seen him touch the heads. ~Ms. McLain75~

Making your own food is awesome!!!!!

We've been doing that for awhile now! But remember to mix some vitamins or flake in as well. Unfortunately, one thing they don't get in fresh mix is the vitamins and minerals they need. Message the hubby for more info! ~Mrs. McLain75~

    Last fish! Maybe a stingray?

Seeing as they can get up to 18" across...I was reading that A LOT of people were donating their rays to local zoo's because they did get so big and outgrew their 180g tanks. I would do more research into the fact prior to any type of purchase. ~Mrs. McLain75~
