    Cloudy eye

untill the amonia was down, It could be a bacterial problem in your water if that many are affected. I dont know that High Amonia will do that (It may, I really dont know) but it sounds like something is going. Raise the temp a little and maybe some salt.

oh if its an Amonia problem, stay on the Master kit and you could do partial changes twice a day or 1 every day.

    Cloudy eye

I have an A.P. MAster kit , freshwater, , if you have a 90 I would do more of a water change. there are many smarter folks that can give you a better ratio but I do atleast a 20 if your using chemicals. thats why its nice to have a 10 - 30 gal hospital tank so that you can put the injured/sick...

    Cloudy eye

I hope you fare far better than I did, but mine was a Popeye situation that my Sunshine Peacock lost its eye. If your going to add chemicals it is great to have a hospital tank.

    Holding time?

fry mostly get eaten in a main tank (some are good at hiding in Texas holey rock) unless you put momma in a baby tank. after momma stops allowing the fry to swim back in her mouth put the mom back in main tank. thats been my experience

    Baby cichlids

Bringing the water does not hurt your tank at all, as long as you kept the filters wet, thats where your BB is and in your deco and substrate. I dont know a time you just watch the mom and when she stops allowing them to swim back in her mouth put her back in the main tank and raise some...

best cichlids to mix with peacocks

Tbox, I like fish and this one happend to be Orange and White (Tenn. College Football Colors) So I may have a soft spot :) Cichlidheaven, Andrew gave good advice I cannot speak personally for I have not mixed but there are alot of smart folks on here that have experience with mixing, like...

    Baby cichlids

The water dosent have much to do with Benifical Bacteria, you would have needed to place some filter material from your other tank in the 10 to get it going. If you have a chemical test kit test that water quickly and use a filter media baggie or some type of screen over your vaccum hose or what...

What convict said!!! use tank water to pour into your HOB filters for start up but otherwise almost no BB in the Tank water so save yourself the work of transferring the water. Good Luck :)

my first tank i set up was a live cycle and the danios did well untill late in the cycle phase several started dying. I probably let the amonia get too high trying to get the Nitrates to start up.

    Scaping

Ive heard of folks like nathanden, that change theirs often and have no problems. I change mine only when I want to add a new deco or have a wild hair. With that being said though, I just moved and it was a task from hell moving 5 tanks. My 75 gallon Peacock Cichlid tank went over great but on...

best cichlids to mix with peacocks

I have tried to not mix my Peacocks with my Mbuna (its very tempting) but like said previously, the Mbuna are agressive and the Peacocks are really mild. I have a goldfish in with my Peacocks (rescue that was supposed to be only short time) its been in there for 4 to 6 months now. I think that...

    rocks safe or not

I used rock from a Rock Yard type of sales. Very cheap in comparison and I just poured hot water and scrubbed them really good. they seem to have worked great for me. I have heard of people boiling them with success but I have heard dangers like Andrew mentioned with them having air pockets and...
