I think I should add that's he's still very unstable despite being upright most of the time, and I haven't witnessed him eating in about 3 weeks.

My tank has been set up with fish for over 2 years now and I have never had the problem before. A few weeks ago I did a 20% water change and the water went a little cloudy, I then added an anti-cloudy chemical to the tank which made it much worse but the problem sorted itself by the next day...
I know I've got a male and female already as they've laid eggs twice now and been good parents. it's just odd that since the last batch disappeared they won't stop fighting since they've been good together for about a year and a half now

I had something similar to this in my tank and was told on here that they are planaria and they feed on excess detritus in the substrate. When the population explodes like that you need to step up your water changes and they'll go away

They're in a 20g at the moment but they've been growing recently and I was going to get them a 30g tall tank to breed in but if I can't keep them together I'm not sure what would be best
