I've noticed this patch on the side of my tank, and a similar glob on the bottom of my heater. It's like a clear slime/gel. I haven't touched it. In my tank are 2 platies and a snail.
The first picture looks like it's on the bottom of the heater but it's really on the side of the tank.
Looks like it was just poop. White weird poop. Every time I've treated for Ich I've been paranoid that I'd end up with opportunistic infections. Thanks for the help, everyone!

I think this is what was hanging from the fish in previous picture, unless this is a different one and the other went back in. Can they do that?
Is this a parasite? I found a larger one in the water about an inch long. I'm currently treating the tank for ich, the female is going to have fry in a few weeks, and there are 5 fry from her last batch in an adjoining HOB breeder tank that uses the tank water.
