    My fish keep dying??

Your tank can't possibly be cycled if you have any ammonia. Like everyone else has said, it could be mini cycles, but I'm curious, how many of these 15+ fish (including the ones that lived) did you introduce at one time? (meaning over the course of a week or two) If it was more than 3 or 4 your...

Fishless to fish-in (Neon Tetras, HELP!!)

true, but in my defense I wasn't here when you started the thread lol. Can always use it for future reference It isn't a HUGE deal anyway, just keep your eyes peeled for a spike, and you know how to handle it so you should do just fine

Advice needed with fairly new tank...

It is possible that your tetras are attacking them. They're a pretty territorial tetra, and being that they were put into the tank first it's very possible they're your culprit, have you been watching how they treat the other fish? Mollies and catfish are pretty peaceful fish so they'd be pretty...

Advice needed with fairly new tank...

Let me start off with the obvious questions and get them out of the way, Are you conditioning your tap water? Second, are you testing the water you receive from the pet store(s) before adding fish to your tank. Are you quarantining the fish before adding them to your new tank? Are you...

    Water/cleaning gravel

To be clear, I'm not talking about surface gravel cleaning, I'm talking about actually wedging the vacuum in the gravel and doing it that way, going over the surface of the gravel is great Same principal as the filters, when I first started out with fishkeeping I would (not always, but often...

Fishless to fish-in (Neon Tetras, HELP!!)

be prepared for the possibility of a good ammonia spike with the new cory's, test often because you have to remember your filter media isn't mature and won't be able to handle large amounts of waste all of a sudden, it's best to go gradually when adding fish to a newly cycled tank, so I just...

    Water/cleaning gravel

I would do your water changes but avoid cleaning the gravel until your tank is fully cycled unless there's excessive food left over, which brings me to my next point, I would try to feed them only once a day and very little, it won't hurt them, a hungry fishy is happier than a sick one

    New Blue freshwater angel!

Hey everyone, I'm still fairly new, but just wanted to show off my new little guy (the one on the left) he's just too pretty not to share :) He's a blue (freshwater) angelfish and I heart him. He will become much more blue as he ages. He reminded me so much of one of my other little guys...

    Ammonia Issues, Please Help!!

I agree ^^, they're very nice to have, I have one in all my tanks just because. They're only around 6-8 dollars and last up to a year. Not very useful at the moment as you know you have an issue, but in the long run will save you some test formula monies when you're just maintaining a tank

This is probably a stupid question..

Yeah I figured that out too late so I said disregard :taped:. You just never know with some people

This is probably a stupid question..

huh ^^ I didn't even think of that lol... disregard if that's the case. I still say no though, I'm sure they sell aquatic paints for that kind of stuff if it's truly necessary

    Ammonia Issues, Please Help!!

Yeah, sounds to me like a lot of your bacteria was starved and died, so your aquarium is re-cycling and you have a ton of fish in there (for cycling, not in general), all I can suggest is large water changes, very often

This is probably a stupid question..

Fish rely on their vision and natural (as natural as you can get at least) surroundings to be healthy and stress free. I'd imagine if you dye your water you're going to stress them out something awful, physically and mentally, which can lead to them being much more susceptible to disease and a...

Cloudy water during fish in cycle

Yes it is normal, it will magically clear up one day, unfortunately there isn't much you can do about it except be patient, the good news is, this usually only happens towards the end of a cycle, and it sounds like you're doing everything right
