My 4 yr old baby sis, after spending the weekend at my house, decided it would be a good idea to throw a penny (I believe..I wasn't able to find any more) into my 90 gallon reef tank. I discovered it tonight while inspecting my tank. Do I have anything to be worried about?
I just cut the top off of a 1liter bottle, cut an opening in the top, inverted the top, and put it back into the bottle. I used a ziptie to fasten the top to the bottle. I also put a rock in the bottle to keep it from floating around.
I FIIIINally got my damsel out of my tank today after about 3 days with a homemade trap. This little terror of a fish has killed 2 firefish, a royal gramma, and 2 green chromis. I will now be able to add small fish! He is now sitting on my kitchen counter in a plastic coke bottle. I hated this...
I used to feed my palys and zoas when I was bored--it looked cool when they closed up over some food. I noticed that they grew a lot faster when I fed. I had some slight phosphate issues so I stopped feeding altogether, and they all still did just fine.
Why are you putting the skimmer in the fuge? You'll skim out your pods and probably suck up some sand into your skimmer pump. I'd put it in a separate section before the fuge separated by a baffle.
Hmm, yeah you have a hex I see--my last tank was a hex, it was a major pain to aquascape. Looks good, as long as you have good flow in and around the rocks, the corals you put on the rocks will obscure the rock anyway, like Mel said earlier.
I just redid my aquascape again...you know, people say its one of the most enjoyable tasks in a tank--but i think its a PITA. It took me a long time to get it to where I'm halfway happy with it..basically i was looking for good flow, and good shelving for coral placement at different heights...
None on my aquarium, but about a month ago, while at work, I experienced a wardrobe malfunction, and split my jeans in the seat. It was about an 8 inch tear. I grabbed some duct tape and taped my pants from inside--it was seamless. Worked great til i was able to get home.
Question: How much load is distributed to the center of the stand? When I rig up the support beams, will the load be great enough (after removing center brace) to sag and transfer onto the support beams? If so, won't it be difficult to replace the center brace if all of the load is then put...
My last aquarium sprung a leak, so i picked up a larger 90 gallon tank to replace it. I needed to have it set up right away, so I was not able to set up my sump. Now that i'm trying to build a sump--i can't fit anything larger than a 10 gallon tank through the aquarium stand's doors. Can I...
