Hi, Does anyone know if a firemouth and Honduran red point can breed?? We have one if each in our 240l tank and they have made a nest inside one if the ornaments, the firemouth is protecting the area with the Honduran inside.....they are both digging down and seem inseparable? Anyone??

We've had 4 ghost shrimps and each one every few weeks has had loads of eggs underneath but they soon go. I noticed one of mine actually pulling them out themselves. I dont actually think they are fertilised though even though they carry them....I'm sure I read that but I could be wrong

Ah ok, the tank must be about 4ft at least. Every Fish shop we have bough fish from have said they will all be fine in our tank. I don't like the thought of it being over crowded. Would never of bought the fish in the first place if we thought the tank would be too small. Let's hope no...

We won't be buying any more of these so I'm afraid he will have to be ok in his own. It does seem fine and settled in our large tank so he must be ok

They died in our smaller tank, we have now upgraded, they were only 3''. The one we have left is still as small as when we got it about 8 months ago, it never grew like the others.

The plec is an albino plec, just looks lime a normal sucker fish, I haven't a clue what sort.

Yes it is a Bala shark, well I think, we did have others in our old tank with it but they all died eventually, after going a bit loopy, jumping etc and knocking themselves out and yes we have the red tailed black shark, that's about a year old, about 3 inch long but still skinny ish

Yes 12 hours is too long, maybe do some back to back water changes and from now on 8 hours max for lighting, make sure there is no sun light on your tank too :-) away from windows etc etc. Now that it's there I think it will only get worse until you get it under control. So do 25% water changes...

Well as far as I know bacterial blooms should be left to settle on it's own, with that the water should be cloudy or looking like a glass of milk has been poured in there, but algae bloom is greener water and everything else in the tank turning green, I have never had this one before but maybe...
