Some new shots with our new camera

The front pictures are all of the same fish...and he's actually the only Tang I have in there...so I can't really say for sure, but there haven't been any problems yet.

Some new shots with our new camera

I have the Canon 18-55mm lense that came packaged with it...and I've ordered a sigma 28-300mm AF lense. I really wanted the sigma 50-500mm lense because I take a lot of sports shots, but I'm going to play a bit before I drop the $700.

    Camera Choices

We just bought the rebel and love it so far, well worth the money. I was using a Minolta Dimage 5 before and it simply doesn't compare in any way. You can see some sample shots on fully-auto in a separate post.

Some new shots with our new camera

Well, we decided to buy ourselves a present and bought a new digicam (Canon EOS D300), and here's my first pictures from it. I used the fully automatic mode, so they're not the greatest, but I'm pretty happy with the results so far. 150G African Tank Nimbochromis Venustus Cyphtilapia...

Magnum 350 / Just got it!

The bands slide back over the flexible hoses where they're over the plastic connectors. They act as "hose clamps". I love my Magnum, I have it on my planted tank and it works great as a CO2 reactor as the impeller is on the bottom and doesn't risk airlocking.

    Planted tank filtration

If it were my money, I'd get an AC300 AND the Eheim...then you get the best of both worlds and some redundancy in case one fails. Bio-wheel filters have a lot of nice features, but there were a couple of things I couldn't stand. 1) They make more water noise than other HOBs. 2) I always got...

    What are wet/dry filters?

Good point...although most people don't categorize them that way, bio-wheel filters are definitely wet-dry...

    Frontosa with malawis?

What malawis? I have frontosa in with my malawis, and haven't had a problem, but I would stay away from mbuna with a frontosa. Frontosa are pretty docile for a larger fish and will be bossed around by the more agressive mbuna. They're also very slow growers, so it will be a while before size...
