Thanks for the help though if anyone else has any ideas why it may have died I would really like to know to prevent it happening to the others which seem perfectly fine?
Unfortunately the fish has died I did a water check everything seemed fine it was a 20 uk gallon tank with 2 other angel fish and 3 tetra.....my guess is old age but I'm unsure on the age as they were given to me when my friend left the country already fully developed.
Vindogg I think you may be right I went away for a week and my Neighbour looking after it left unbeaten food spoiling at the bottom of the tank after that the angelfish ate a tetra and has not ate anything else?
My angelfish keeps staying at the bottom of the tank sometime lying on the side and is breathing VERY heavily and squirming however the other 2 angelfish and 3 tetra are perfectly fine??.
I want some sand for substrate and I was wondering if I got normal sand from the beach say and washed it thoroughly would that be acceptable for a freshwater tank substrate...
Thanks and don't worry I have bigger pots waiting :D I was quite proud of it because I did have gravel in it but had suspicions that it was contaminating the water so had to take it all out and get it tested and it was contaminated.
Was really proud of the set up I have just done and wanted to show people. I bought some underwater plant soil and fertiliser and put my amazon sword plants into pots with the soil it made an interesting spin to my tank that my fish seem to love exploring.
