7 months to breed convicts? i usually just stick 6 or so in a big tank and let em pair off, raise the temp feed em up and they start cranking out babies within 2 weeks. But anyhoo congrats breeding convicts is lots o fun. so by 'plans' for the fry you mean .... creating an army of convicts? haha

I've had seahorses before, unsuccessfully, most if not all horsies require live food constantly, so if you don't have your own supply of breeding brine shrimp i'd advise against it. but yeah bad idea on keeping them with anything more aggressive than they are.
