Nah, I have plexiglass tops on all my tanks and they work very well, makes setting up lighting fixtures much easier...except on that one tank I guess :)

Yea, after seeing some pictures of planaria I don't think that's what they are. The nemotode pictures I've seen look similar to what is in the tank. I just went over to their house and siphoned 1 1/2 buckets of dirty water out of the tank and you could literally see THOUSANDS of these things...

Its little white spots on the glass. I haven't tried removing it yet but it looks like it would come off easy.

Hello all...I have a new 30g hex tank thats been cycling for about 4 weeks. I'm starting to see little white things (algae?) on the glass of the tank. Is this normal near the end of the cycle? Thanks for any help :D

Has anyone ever used a 50/50 10k/actinic bulb for a FW planted tank? I know the actinic is useless but would the 10k be suitable for a low maintenance tank?

The light that came with the tank is just one 17w bulb. There is no spot for a second bulb. I like the idea about the 50/50 10k/actinic...makes the tank look awesome and I definetly dont want a high maintenance tank....has anybody tried a light like this for live plants?

Yea, I thought the actinic was worthless but I wasn't sure. Unfortunetly, I dont think Coralife makes a bulb that is 50/50 10k/6.7k that fits in the aqualight hoods. Im not looking to make a huge investment in new lighting since I already own the aqualight hood from my previous tank.
