Yeah I have a few in the tank that I didn't buy they're only tiny though. I'd watch it with the hermits, my big one got eaten by the hermits as they thought its shell was something they could move into

the mandarin will only eat pods so once he's ate them heel need more so I don't think you should buy a mandarin just to get rid of some pods

When I first seen one in mine I thought everything was doomed. They look so weird.you will have a lot of little tiny ones but if you have any crabs they will eat some :) I had an emerald crab that ate them all after he'd killed 4 shrimp and a fish

If its the top of the rock were looking at it looks a lot like normal algae to me but I could be wrong. I would presume coralline needs better lighting to bloom

Also, if it's possible, if the crabs at a size you'd like it to be just don't give it a bigger shell to grow into

Probably from the tip of the longest leg to the back of the crab because logically if you think anything else would be the crabs diameter :)

Have a look on live aquaria, they tell you everything you need to know about specific fish, including food, size tank etc etc :)
