I've actually done just this. I had a few hundred Jellybean Cichlids. Which are a hybrid of Parrot fish and Convicts. They like to mate a lot. Make sure you have plenty of NATURAL things in your tank like rocks and driftwood. You can't really make them crossbreed. Just make sure you have a male...
That appears to be a Melanochromis auratus. When they are young, they stay a beautiful yellow color with white striping. When they mature the males turn black like yours. They are extremely aggressive, but with natural tank dividers such as floating plants, driftwood or rocks and over stocking...
Hello, my name is Nico. I’ve been into aquatics for most of my life. Back in 2012, I made my first aquatic video on my YouTube channel “Dj Bootleg TV”. I had already set up a 20-gallon community tank when I got my first apartment. But I decided to do fish tank videos when I set up a 30-gallon...
I’d you’re looking for suggestions on a rescap, move those pieces of wood or whatever they are in the center. Them plant around them.
Plant small plants in front of those in the center then taller plants like Jungle Val in the back.
Unfortunately those will not bounce back. That’s REALLY bad algae growth. Sounds like you don’t think it’s light. Most likely your water has way too much nutrients. Overfeeding, too much (powerful) light. Good luck
You need to propagate your bunch plants. When you get bunch plants you need to take a few minutes and take them apart. Meaning, remove the lead weight. Lay the stem out separate. Remove about 2 inches (varies on size of stems) of leaves from the bottom of each stem.
Them cut the lead weight...
Alright so here’s my take. I had two dirted tanks that I sold plants out of. Honestly, it was a nightmare. You have to completely strain the soil to get all the rocks, sticks and fertilizer out which takes forever.
If you plan to have fish in there I wouldn’t recommend it at all. Anytime your...
We need to know what you have in there, how many, breeds etc. I’m guessing you don’t know which is the bully..? As far as removing the beat up one, yes absolutely if you have another tank or take her to your LFS to maybe isolate her so she can heal in peace.
As far as tank mates. I had my cichlid tank over stocked with about 12-15 tiger barbs. They stay in schools so I never had any issues. Include lot of plants as well to create natural dividers.
Hello everyone!
My name is Nico. I’m getting back into the hobby that I was once obsessed with lol. When I had a two bedroom apartment I turned the second one into a fish room. I had 10 tanks running. I had probably one of the most viewed fish tank channels. Also sold plants online.
My pride...
