Lol everyone is entitled to their own opinions, some may be artificially come up with. I'm just speaking from a marine biology/ zoology third year major's point of view. Maybe I'm wrong ;)

Sorry to offend you, and the brutally die part was sarcasm

Badis would be a good idea, but be aware they rarely eat pellet/flake. As for the tetras clearly people disagree and think your tank is too small so do what they say or else all your fish brutally will die ;) On a real note, do what you want, you learn one way or another what right and wrong...

Walk in circles and that pace can be sustained, it again, isn't the size, it's what is in it that really matters. We wont die from walking in circles in a room, we will die because of toxic amounts of chemicals in the room, the fish don't care { from what I've experienced } about having to do...

    Best ferts?

Flourish line is good and easily available. EI dosing methods are a bit more confusing but good to. Depends on how much work ya wanna do

    Stocking tips?

Throw some other wood and plants in your tank and get a school of them. I think they will be alright although angles can be aggressive,a swell as mollies occasionally, I think u r fine tho

need help to id speicim in my tank

Looks to me like an aquatic moth larvae. At first it looked like planaria, but the fluffy caterpillar attributes tells me its a moth larvae. Syphon them out as you see them, unless you don't mind them. I don't think they can do much harm. But they are gross looking

Google local LFS in you area, chances are they will have them. If you can't get them locally you can order them online. Elite inverts is a good site you should look up. Also the shrimp farm sells nice fire reds for a good price.

Maybe just do only shrimp and solve the argument :p shrimp are really cool on their own, especially when you get babies xD

I'm not sure what a small root extra is but I get your point, we could break it down and do the math and figure out the proportions of a tetra to the tank, and us to a room in comparison but that is beside the point, I think there is enough info here for him to make his own choice.

Fish don't move to the size of a tank. Do you move around more or less depending on the room your in, (I'm not talking about a bathroom or a bedroom :p ) you can do the same amount of walking in a 100x100 room as you can in a 50x50 room, just in one you would have more options and paths to take...

Five gallon is not too small IMO , again, it's the filtration and bio load of the tank. Small tanks can be worked around. Plant heavily, shrimp and fish will be safe. Over filtrate, get and aquaclear thirty or something. Feed small amounts, less food pollutes the water, and also provides less...

He's right about them needing a bigger tank. But realistically he probably wont buy a bigger tank. Tetras should be kept in schools of atleast five or more to calm eachother, it may be a bit over stocked for a five gallon but that all he's got he can make it work. Well planted and good...

In my tanks i have about 12 cardinals in my show tank, and I'm guessing over fifty crs. In a five gallon i think you could get away with 5-8 tetras with a bunch of shrimp. Just keep up on water changes and good filtration, and plants to make the shrimp baby survival a lot easier
