Is that the only thing I need to worry about, ph/hardness? There's no telling where some of these rocks have come from.

As long as you keep them clean, they work fine for anything Aquarium related. You have to be careful how you clean them out. I have a steam cleaner that I use on occasion to keep them clean.

I tried the Meds, and had no luck until I did the temp thing, and I've been free for quite a while. I followed the plan for two weeks, and slowly brought the temp down the third week. :) It's the only way to go :!: Good luck :)

I use a small spatula. I read that article a while back, and it scared the hell out of me. The problem with that is, that gloves are so hard to work with. II do try to wash my hands real well after sticking them in the tank.
