    stick-on tank temp readers

It's worth it to get a better thermometer, I tried the stick on, and had bad luck with it. I had a case of ich, and used the temperature method to rid it. I couldn't do it with the stick on, the temp is not acurate enough. Just pay the small extra amount of money and get a thermometer that...

    Rocks for the aquarium

Is that the only thing I need to worry about, ph/hardness? There's no telling where some of these rocks have come from.

    Rocks for the aquarium

I would really like to know more about the acid test. We bought our house from a Geologist, and my back yard is full of all kinds of strange rocks left over from him that would look really good in my 50 Gal tank. I've been a little unsure about adding any of them to my tank. any ideas would...

    Moving 20 Gallon across town

As long as you keep them clean, they work fine for anything Aquarium related. You have to be careful how you clean them out. I have a steam cleaner that I use on occasion to keep them clean.

    Moving 20 Gallon across town

I have three 5 gal buckets I got from Home Depot that have the snap locking lids on them. You know, like five gal paint buckets only clean and new. They work fine for short trips, and the water does not leak out. They are great for keeping gravel and anything that you want sealed up, I also...

    4 months and still small

I have more females then males.....What a world!...... ....Any way, It is to small to really tell if it is a male or female just yet. I put him or her in with 4 baby sunset platies and a baby black molly, they're all happy in their 20 gal tank. I'm not really worried, I was just...

    4 months and still small

I have a well populated (20+ assorted fish) 40 gal tank, and I have one black molly, that refuses to grow. He/she was part of a brood of 6 out of 11 that survived being eaten and are about 4 to 5 months old. All have grown quite well, and all are doing fine. Yet this one will not grow. It is...

    Must....kill....Ich!

I tried the Meds, and had no luck until I did the temp thing, and I've been free for quite a while. I followed the plan for two weeks, and slowly brought the temp down the third week. :) It's the only way to go :!: Good luck :)

    Help! Snails, What to do?

Thanks tkos, Suggestion taken. It's one less thing I have to check as far as the water is concerned. And I can't wait to try out the lettuce trick. Some one ought to put together a book on the household remedies for dealing with various aquarium oddities. Thanks again :)

    Help! Snails, What to do?

I knew some one would come up with an idea I would like :) Thanks, I'll try it and give results in the morning. As for the salt, I was told to use aquarium salt by the lfs ( ) I at first had the marine salt, but switched to the Aquarium salt. Now I'm really confused :? Yes, at first I...

    Help! Snails, What to do?

I use a small spatula. I read that article a while back, and it scared the hell out of me. The problem with that is, that gloves are so hard to work with. II do try to wash my hands real well after sticking them in the tank.

    Help! Snails, What to do?

Thanks Ferret, I have a 40 gal tank, and I agree with you on the aggressiveness factor, I read about the choices you mentioned, and if it isn't a size factor, it's a the aggressiveness problem. I must admit that my problem has subsided some. I keep picking them out and now I'm down to three a...
