- heavily planted 10 gallon tank with Java ferns, anacharis, hornwort, water sprite, dwarf amazon swords, 3 medium sized banana plants. Fish: 2 peppered cory cats, 3platy, 3 neon tetras, 1 mystery snail, 1 pond snail, 3 ghost shrimp **2 new platy fry** 2 unkown fry that slipped into the ghost shrimp take-home bag....still waiting to figure out what they are!!
I know my tank seems over-stocked. however, my LFS recommended that I up my bio-load because my plants (esp. Java ferns) were turning black from a lack of nitrates. ammonia=0, nitRITE=0, nitRATE=0. I refuse to add chemicals to the water other than dechlorinator, ph neutralizer & plant food.
