    question about freinds goldfish

Start feeding wheat germ when the water temp reaches around 60 degrees. This will strenghten their immune systems prior to the freezing temps. When water temp reaches 50 degrees discontinue feeding and do not start feeding again until the spring season when temps rise and become stable. Make...

    Whats my problem? (Filter related)

Intake tubes are not all that expensive. If one is cracked from age, I would replace it. Again, filling the cannister almost completely with water will make priming much easier.

How to filter a double pond? (couple thousand gallons)

I would agree with Zac. It sounds as though though you have free-floating algae. If the water is green and the bottom of the pond can't be seen, a UV sterilizer will clear it up. To cut down on the amount of algae clinging to the sides of the pond, add floating surface covering plants to cover...

    Whats my problem? (Filter related)

I would diassemble the Eheim, give it a good cleaning while making a complete inspection of the moving parts. Make sure motor shaft spins when plugged into electrical receptacle. Clean and check impeller for damage. Inspect intake tubes for cracks or holes. Get the filter housing almost...

    keeping dedris out

When looking into the pond its almost as though nothing were covering it. It is a bit more noticeable where it extends outside of the pond, but does not ruin the appearance of the pond. As well as keeping leaves out, it has been very effective at keeping the fish and frogs safe from birds and...

    JEBO Cannister Filter

Critterlover; Is that the CFS4 you have that has 5 stages? My 828 has 4 stages and wouldn't even consider another brand of cannister because of the excellent performance and value. I've had the filter outside of the cabinet and it was much quieter than my Rena 200 air pump.

I use a black net year round. It is not noticable as a green net is. DrsFosterandSmith.com has them on sale now.

    mega clown pleco (L340)

I hate to have to tell you this but I paid 7.99 for a clown pleco just like the one in the picture. Don't know if you were ripped off or maybe certain fish cost more in the midwest. I just picked up a rubber-lip pleco that does a great job with algae on the glass. He also grow only to 4 inches.

    High Output T5 Lighting

Great display of aquatic plants Hara. I too use T-5 lighting and no CO2 and have excellent results.

    Pond Pics

Nice fish/clean water. One question: Is there a reason you haven't partially buried the pressurized cannister? It looks as though the pond is above ground. Is that a Laguna filter? I use a Cyprio Bioforce and think cannisters are great.

    Odyssea lights

I have the HO 48 watt T-5 fixture and haven't had a problem after one year. So far very satisfied.

    Inline Heaters?

I've got the Hydor ETH 200. It is the best heater money can buy. Your tank water can't be heated more evenly and to within .4 degrees. It gives you more tank space. Less unsightly things to hide in the tank. How can you heat water better than to have it pass through an element? Worth the money.
