    Agressive or peaceful?

No corals. Just fish and rock. I do like anemones so Ill probably keep some of those. I have nothing in there now, except a couple crabs. If I go aggressive, Im going to do a snowflake eel and a lion fish. If I go peaceful, Ill do clownfish, and find some other random fish, and a bunch of...

    Agressive or peaceful?

So I know this will be mostly personal preference, but I just cant decide how to stock my 75 gal tank. The original plan was for an eel and a dwarf lion fish, but lately I'm not sure that will be "exciting" enough in terms of movement and things to look at. I do love clownfish and all those...

    LED lighting - Please help!

I just picked up 2 of the Chinese LEDs and Im super impressed. Just setting up my tank so nothing to report on as far as growing but Id be amazed if they don't do a good job. I might even pick up 2 more for my freshwater tank just for how well and bright they are

    Dwarf Lionfish and Snowflake Eel?

How tight of a lid does it need to be? Currently I just have a glass canopy, theres no "openings" in it anywhere, but ... its just a glass canopy, so there's not a lot of weight there.

    Dwarf Lionfish and Snowflake Eel?

Would it be an issue to keep these two guys in a 75 gallon tank? And if not, is there any sort of clean up crew I can run that wouldn't become dinner?

    Ocellaris Clownfish

Is there any issue housing a regular and a black and white together in my aquarium if they are introduced together? More than likely they will not have been housed together at the LFS. It's going to be a 29 gallon tank, so not a lot of space if they have issue with each other.

    Tank size diminishing returns?

I know its a bit of a loaded question. I'm thinking of a predator type tank, I haven't looked into compatibility, but I just don't want the size of the tank to limit my choices. I just don't want to buy a 300 gallon tank which would require 3x of everything, where I bought a 250, it would only...

    Tank size diminishing returns?

I'm already planning my next SW tank, and planning on going Somewhere in the 2-300 gallon range. Obviously, if I'm going to do it, I'd rather just go as big as I can afford, but is there a point where big becomes too big? Obviously live rock and sand will be fairly proportional, but looking at...

    29 Gal w/ Clownfish

I'm in the process of building a 29 gallon with 2 clownfish and a small cleanup crew. I'm not sure what to do otherwise. Corals never really did it for me, I love the look of Anemone's, but I'm not too educated in them. A bulb will probably be on the list, but I'm not sure what else to look for...

    When to add fish

Right now I'm sitting at the below: Ph 8.2 Nitrite 0.5 Ammonia 1.0 Nitrate 0.0 So perhaps a bit soon to think about it.

    When to add fish

Sounds good, I just heard some people say it can take months to fully cycle. I'm in the ballpark of those numbers, so maybe another week or two I should hopefully be good to go.

    When to add fish

How do you know when its safe to add fish? I know there will be cycling for a long time (relatively), but do you need to wait the entire cycling period to add fish, or just until it stabilizes for the most part?

    Natural light effectiveness?

I'm just getting started building my 29gal, my first saltwater tank. I'm going to have it on a shelf next to a NW facing window that does have UV inhibiting screens on it. If possible Id like to use as little power as possible, so how effective would the natural sunlight be for corals and fish...

Why are my fish dying if my water tests fine?

I had the same issue the other day, I THINK its because my tank got too hot. I'm in texas, so we're hitting 80 during the day, but in the 50s at night .... since I was at work, I never turned the AC on. My tank went from 76 degrees to over 80 in one afternoon. The fish didn't like that, and I...

    Keep losing Bala Sharks

Well, I think the problem is temperature. It definitely got hotter in there than I expected.I think the Balas were a warning, as I lost a few others yesterday. Didn't realize how hot it got, especially in the afternoon when the sun hit the tank. Is there any way to cool down the tank other than...
