I think the Trigger ate paper

It does not appear bloated. We're approaching almost a week here. He just floats up in this circular rock all day and night. I haven't seen him eat since Friday night. I'm thinking about buying a snail to see if he'll bite.

I think the Trigger ate paper

Three days ago my two-year-old threw a paper napkin in the tank. I netted as much as I could, cleaned the filter intakes, and vacuumed the rocks some. Since then the humu humu has been throughly and uncharacteristically lethargic. It may have eaten some of the paper. What can I do for it...

    What's up with the Trigger?

oh my goodness, you've described him very well. he may not have savaged the damsel. he may have been snacking post-mortem. the bad part is the snails take care of my massive diatom problem. thanks for the suggestions.

    What's up with the Trigger?

I added a humu humu this weekend. Quite suddenly, I've lost two snails and a yellow tail, who appeared a little savaged. I've seen(out of the corner of my eye) the Trigger toying with the snail's shell. Is it possible the trigger is harrassing the others to DEATH? I've checked...

A dead clown, a sad clown, and several DUMB questions

I replaced the filter media. The package alleges that it reduces nitrates. But I didn't want to toss the good bacteria residing there already. If that makes any sense.

A dead clown, a sad clown, and several DUMB questions

You know, both the clowns had the spider-web stuff. And for a period after the one clown died, the other had spider-web stuff. It has since fallen off. :D I've reduced feeding to once per day. I've changed more of the water, increased aeration, and prayed. Water quality is holding...

A dead clown, a sad clown, and several DUMB questions

No meds. Municipal water supply. I dumped another 10 gals. The nitrate has reduced by half. The other clown looks like a different fish. Much better. I wonder if changing the filter substrate will set back the bacteria growth? I'm already on board about the over-feeding. Thanks.

A dead clown, a sad clown, and several DUMB questions

The facts: I'm new to saltwater- Two months tomorrow. 55 gallons (long) and no protein skimmer. I have my 2 original yellow-tails. I have two dominoes and one of two perculas purchased three-weeks ago. For the past week the perculas have had a long, white spiderweb looking piece hanging out...
