Wow - thanks! I did try that site but maybe it didn't refresh and thought I had too much? I will try again! And I should be able to get more emerald eyes in a week or so (the local shop is ordering some).
Hi! I have a 20 gal high tank and just added some new fish - I thought my calculations were ok but now am pretty sure I am overstocked - and wondering what to do. I could move our existing tank so that I could set up a bigger tank in the same spot, but that would be 2 moves now (into the bucket...
Sounds great! I just have some wardleys staple flakes that the shop had and I wanted to spice it up a bit. Garlic? My daughter will get a kick out of that!
We have a 20 gallon tank with 6 white cloud minnows, 3 emerald eye rasboras, and 1 cherry shrimp. The rasboras seem to miss out on the food (flakes) since they stay a bit lower. Maybe they are ok but we have only had them for 3 days and I don't know...also, we are feeding flakes but what...
Hi! I was wondering if people typically only rinse these or change them, and if so how often? We have a 20 gallon tank and do a weekly 25% change with plants, 6 white cloud minnows, 3 emerald eye rasboras, and 1 cherry shrimp. Thanks!
Oh, and we did want cool water - it is just hot here and I think in the summer we can't go much lower. Are emerald eyes ok in cooler water? So many fish in the books have a range and actual experience would be good to know....

I was hoping that doing the fishless cycle would avoid fish dying (at least right away) -this is so sad. We had 6 White Cloud Mountain minnows and 1died yesterday, though it didn't look good in the bag. Now another is missing and had been looking fine - we checked under the rocks, in the filter...
No qt tank yet since these are the first fish - now we can't find it again - don't want to turn on the light and shock the other fish...which is worse?
Oh, no movement for a while for fish number 6...I hope the others are ok? They all seem fine - maybe the 1 was over stressed? The lights are off so I could check in the morning - but likely I should move it now just in case, right? It was moving every 20 min or so but I don't know....
