Considering moving some red eyed teras inot a 55 gallon with Neons. I was wondering if anyone had tried this combo and if they had any problems with it. Any advice appreciated
I was considering getting a figure eight puffer and setting it up in a 20 gallon made to look like a marine tank, with some fake coral, sand, and lava rock. Is a 20 gallon going to be big enough for a figure eight puffer on his own? Is there anything I could get to tackle algae for such a...
I just bought 4 Angelicus loaches, having seen them at Petsmart for $20 I then happened to see them at Walmart for $6. I hate myself for buying fish from Walmart, but they are doing well so far and a saving of over $50 is not to be sniffed at.
Yay! Well old Nuggles is doing great! Not only is he alive and thriving he also comes out and seems to be showing off! Never realized he would be such a great algae eater either! You know I am tempted to get another as he is so gorgeous, but I am stretching it on the stocking side as it is so I...
Petsmart new stock $40, did I get ripped off? I think he is gorgeous and as shipping from online stores is $40 in itself it seemed a good idea, is there anywhere I could get one cheaper? I definetly want more!
I would definetly go with the pond! A pleco is going to be fine in almost any Floridian pond, and if you give it about a month and preferably introduce him when the water temperature is as high as possible he will not be stressed by the change and will have plenty of time to acclimate to cooler...
Some shrimp would do great, or maybe some plants with a couple of Ottos to keep the algae down etc. Those Eclipse tanks are great especially if you replace the standard flourescent bulb with a PC one and frow a few plants.
Currently I have the Eclipse 5 corner tank with 3 small Sword plants a...
Ahh sorry, normal comes with tank bulb, no CO2, all levels optimum etc. Its a 55 with relatively high stocking of fish, and quite heavily planted, I know it shouldn't really work but all my swords have flourished...Just these furry leaf edges....
This fairly innocuous furry looking algae has covered the edges of my Sword plants leaves, it is very thin, and barely noticable...but it is more noticable because it is so discrete if you see what I mean...
I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions to get rid of this? I have Otto's in...
That might well be the case I know I had some gold ribbon previously which died....That is the one complaint I have that these plants do not give adequate info on the packageing.
Truth to tell the packageing actually looks like it was knocked out in some guys basement, not the normal proffesion...
Has anyone else tried these things? I think they are amazing! For those who have not seen them they are sold in a plastic tube with no water, only the roots are covered in this clear gel stuff. The plants are gorgeous and look spectacular in my tanks, they come snail free, and you generally...
I am thinking of picking upa Fluval 404 for $100, from my local Petsmart, on sale. This would be for my community 55 gallon which is currently running 2 Emperor 400's.
Would this be overkill?
Should I perhaps consider temporarily retireing one of the 400's and getting the Fluval?
$100...
Thanks for the input guys! The links were great, I do worry that feeding any fish just blood worms would be insufficient, I have read some take flake....Hmmm, very tempting...
What does everyone think about my stocking level though? I do not want to overstock even for such a cool fishy.
I have fallen in love with Elephant Noses, they are gorgeous and I love the idea of placing a tinfoil ball in for them to play with! Which I read you can do, its electric properties make it attractive to their weak electric organ...
But I would be placing it in a 55 gallon with, 1 Angel, 2...
