    Goldfish are staying small

Thanks for the input. They seem to be in good shape, with the exception of one who has developed a nasty tumor/growth on his side. According to what I've been told there is really nothing that can be done about it. He is active, eating and acting perfectly normal. I wish I knew what it was though.

    Goldfish are staying small

I've had 2 of my current fantail goldfish for a few years now, and I'm curious if anyone here has a clue as to why they are staying relatively small. They have doubled in size, but seems like they should be quite a bit larger by now. I bought one from walmart (I know..) which was one of my very...

First time making a java moss tree, it’s brown. How do I make this better?

+1. That stuff is really hard to kill. You should have some that's still salvageable.

    Help with ich

Nah...no damage to plants at all when I used it in my planted goldfish tank.

    Help with ich

Yep. I've done heat/salt with success, but the temp needs to be at least 86. I found that dosing Kordon Rid Ich Plus was much easier and effective.

    Dusty water?

Welcome and glad you came here for advice. Your tank isn't cycled, and as mentioned, it is way too small for goldies. Please read I just learned about cycling but I already have fish. What now?! - Aquarium Advice Feel free to ask questions!

    Please help!!!! Emergency!

If you are following the directions to the letter and your kit isn't expired, then your readings are good enough. Ammonia needs to be zero. Spikes happen, so you want to keep up water changes and testing for now. Based on your earlier nitrite and nitrate reading your tank is well its way to...

    Please help!!!! Emergency!

You need to change at least 80% of their water asap. Your tank is cycling. What kind of filtration do you have? What type of goldfish? I´m sorry you were so grossly misinformed from the petshop person. Your API kit should be fine, I´ve started tanks for years using that kit. Nitrites are...

    Parasite ID?

My tank is 75 gallons. I've treated with several meds that are mentioned in the previous post. I have read that levamisole will treat camallanus worms.

    Parasite ID?

About 2 months ago I treated the tank with levamisole. No change. I recently tried API General Cure, and I´m still not seeing much improvement. Bummer too, this is one of my original goldfish. I don´t like throwing meds in the tank, but everyone is fine, including nerites and panda cories. Guess...

    Parasite ID?

I've been researching, but can't seem to find the best treatment, if any, I should use.

    Parasite ID?

Can anyone help me figure out what this is? The fish has had the raised spot for months, but now it looks like something is emerging. Fish is active and eating normally. No signs of sickness at all.

    Reason for concern?

I hope this is just a normal color change type thing. Notice those darker red spots? They aren’t raised and don’t look like sores. I just noticed them. The fish is acting perfectly normal. *I added a closer shot.

What to feed my floaty fancy goldie?

Their main diet is repashy. No pellets, occasional frozen bloodworms/shrimp/daphnia, leafy greens, and peas. I don’t think it’s protein. Probably just a kink in her digestive tract that catches large amounts of food trying to pass. That’s just my guess though. She’s perfectly fine otherwise...

What to feed my floaty fancy goldie?

I found out I have to break my office tank down for painting and renovations at school during the summer. I have absolutely no place to set that tank up where I live, so I’m going to add them to the 75g for 2 months. Guess I’ll be doing a lot more water changes. Thankfully the two goldies that...
