Need some input on my 55 and stand

The water was warm when I filled it. I filled it from my kitchen sink with a hose, so I had both hot and cold on to fill it faster. Thermometer on the tank read 85 when I filled it, and held that temp for about an hour before it started dropping. I don't have a heater currently, since I'm still...

Need some input on my 55 and stand

So I got this tank at a yard sale for $25 with the stand. For that price, I couldn't pass it up. The tank holds water. (filled it and let it sit in the garage for 48 hours) But it's got issues with the top rim and brace. The brace is cracked, but not all the way through, and one side of the rim...

experiance with replacing top center support

About $30 from GlassCages.com for a 55. Mine has a cracked center brace as well, and I'm still undecided if I want to buy a new top, or just rig it up.

Best Filtration method - 55 Gallon

I have a 55 gallon standard tank that I picked up at a yard sale. (Only $25 with the stand!) It didn't come with anything, as the guy had a snake in it. I don't have a ton of cash to throw at it all at once, so I am going to buy things a little at a time and piece it together. The question is...

    3D rock back ground

I was just reading something about using strong magnets. Though it didn't really say HOW they had used them. I would assume they just glued them to the back of the background and stuck another on the outside of the tank to hold it. You can usually get some pretty powerful magnets at the...

    Hello, hello!

New here, obviously. Not really new to aquariums, but not a pro either. A little about my aquarium history: When I was a kid I had the usual fishbowls with goldfish and was always amused watching them swim around and, well, just be fish. I went for years without having fish, and then won a...
