I'm using a chunk of prefilter material in my sump to catch the big particles in the water. How often do I need to change this out? I hear they can become nitrate factories if they are left in too long. I have been changing it out once a week. Can I go longer?

A mark showed up on the side of my clown a few days ago. He is acting healthy and does not appear to be having troubles in any way. He hosting in a torch most of the day. Any idea what the mark is? Ring

Its a Royal Gramma that is the problem. I've been feeding him garlic soaked food to boost his health but will do low-salinity in the Hospital tank to see if it can be cleared up w/o chemicals. If you have any suggestions I am all for it! :)

I have a fish that I think may have Ich. I went and got everything for a hospital tank so he can be qt and treated. Can I use the water from the main tank to start the hospital tank or do i need to start fresh and run it through a cycle. I would like to get that fish out as soon as possible. Ring

Since I have a pretty small tank and already have 30lbs of base rock I was hoping to find 2 specifically shaped pieces that would fit well in the tank. Have you been to the place in Lake Oswego(http://www.ecorals.tv)?

Is it ok to run a powerhead in a sandstorm? I'm not real sure how powerheads pump but it seems like the sand would cause them problems?

It seems like there are a few pressure points under the rocks where they sit on the glass. I guess the sand backfills around them and adds support.

My 30lbs of hirocks came in last night and and it is all in the tank now w/ 25lbs of sand. I would like to add 30lbs of live rock which would make a total of 60lbs of rock! This makes me nervous so I would like to know if anyone else has the same tank and how much rock/sand they have in it...
